Ten days in Cuba
I co-coordinated a 10 day trip for 20 Baltimore City High School students in the summer of 2015, before Cuban borders were officially open for travel. During these 10 days, students were able to practice their Spanish while learning about Cuban culture. |
One month in Oaxaca
An effective foreign language teacher continually develops and re-evaluates their curriculum. In 2015, I spent one month living in Oaxaca, Mexico as part of a National Endowment for the Humanities grant. During this month, I developed a new unit for my Spanish 2 curriculum, to be taught entirely in Spanish. |
Two years in Spain
After graduating from the University of Oregon, I lived in Madrid, Spain for two years. I spent this time teaching in a public middle school in Leganés, perfecting my Spanish, and traveling throughout Spain. I returned to the United States a seasoned teacher, ready to put my full effort into teaching Spanish to students in the United States. |
